The Elementary Education program equips students to instruct children from kindergarten through sixth grade. This degree requires completion of at least 120 credit hours. Students must earn a C grade or higher in all major courses. Most upper-level education courses, including EDEL 4500 Residency in Teaching, demand a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA from the University of Wyoming. Additionally, a 2.50 GPA is mandatory for major content courses, with at least 42 credits at the upper-division level.
Before beginning any fieldwork or practicum, students must undergo an initial background screening. The cost for this first background check is included in student fees—consult your College of Education advisor for specific instructions.
