Montclair State provides multiple combined teaching programs across diverse subjects. These integrated programs reflect the Teaching and Learning department's dedication to inclusive education, equipping future educators with specialized training to enhance New Jersey schools by fostering inclusive environments where students of all abilities learn side by side. We strive to empower every child as engaged members of our diverse, democratic, and inclusive communities.
The 5-year Combined Bachelor's/MAT with Dual Certification program results in teaching credentials in both a chosen subject area and as a Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TSD), along with earning both bachelor's and master's degrees. Prospective students must apply and gain acceptance to the Teacher Education Program during their undergraduate studies. Successful completion of the undergraduate phase is required for Graduate School admission and to finish the one-year master's component.
