The Master of Arts in Art History enables students to pursue advanced studies in art history, delving deeply into artistic traditions and cultural contexts. The MA in Art History offers both theoretical grounding and specialized study across different art historical periods and cultures. Students collaborate with faculty experts in American art (from ancient to contemporary) and Museum Studies. The program explores varied cultural narratives, artistic practices, institutional frameworks, materials, techniques, and critical perspectives. Students gain experience through traditional scholarship, hands-on projects, digital research tools, interdisciplinary approaches, and exhibition development. This degree prepares graduates for museum careers, arts administration, community college teaching, and other art-related professions, while also providing a strong foundation for PhD programs.
