The University of South Alabama's Stokes School of Marine and Environmental Sciences provides these undergraduate degree options and concentrations. The undergraduate curriculum is managed from the Mobile campus, where students take foundational courses. While most faculty are based at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab approximately 35 miles south of Mobile, the surrounding area features rich ecosystems including the Mobile Delta, Mobile Bay, Mississippi Sound, barrier islands, and Gulf waters.
The Marine Sciences Bachelor of Science program meets society's increasing demand for specialized marine environment knowledge. Whether drawn to marine biology or technological applications, students can investigate coastal and oceanic systems through their preferred lens. World-class faculty with diverse specializations—from fisheries science to marine ecology to ocean physics—mentor students. This marine sciences degree equips graduates for careers across government, academia, and private sectors involving marine environments.
