For nearly five decades, UNC Greensboro's Master's program in Speech Language Pathology (SLP) has trained professionals to assist individuals of all ages with communication disorders. This comprehensive program consists of 66 credit hours, divided between 34 academic credits and 32 clinical credits, offering in-depth study of speech, language, swallowing, alternative communication methods, and hearing across the lifespan. Students gain hands-on experience through the UNCG Speech and Hearing Center, specialized research labs focusing on child and adult language development, and partnerships with various community service organizations.
Beyond academics, the department makes meaningful contributions to society through research initiatives and clinical services. Graduate students demonstrate their commitment by volunteering for events, fundraising, and participating in awareness campaigns for groups like the Brain Injury Association of North Carolina. These activities not only educate the public about brain injuries but also generate support for North Carolinians coping with long-term effects of such conditions.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or appropriately evaluated credentials for non-U.S. schools.
