The Periodontics graduate program focuses on three key goals: (1) providing a strong scientific foundation for specialized practice, (2) ensuring expertise in diagnosing oral conditions, creating treatment plans for periodontal and implant cases, delivering comprehensive care, and monitoring patients with periodontal diseases and implant treatments, and (3) cultivating future leaders in Periodontics/Implantology and the broader dental field, with balanced attention to research and clinical practice. This 36-month certificate program includes core studies in Periodontics and Implantology along with coursework in physiology, oral pathology, bacteriology, therapeutics, orthodontics, restorative dentistry, oral diagnosis, laser applications, digital workflows, microscope-assisted procedures, conscious sedation, and more. Students gain teaching experience through classroom and clinical instruction. The program emphasizes developing graduates' full potential in clinical work, teaching, and research while offering adaptable curriculum options to align with individual goals and incorporate emerging advancements like sophisticated bone grafting techniques and innovative technologies including digital dentistry, laser treatments, microsurgery, and microscope-guided soft tissue grafting.
Applicants complete a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association; or complete an international degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned.
