Choral Music Education majors gain a strong foundation in teaching methods, music theory, and history, equipping them for careers in education or advanced music studies. The program offers practical teaching opportunities and field observations to help students refine their instructional techniques and develop personal teaching philosophies. While not mandatory, students are advised to complete the teacher certification exam while enrolled at UMBC.
