If you're interested in exploring ancient civilizations or analyzing modern societies, this program offers comprehensive graduate-level education and hands-on research opportunities to prepare you for a career in anthropology.
Throughout this program, you'll engage in coursework, seminars, and guided studies covering broad anthropological topics, archaeological methods, biological anthropology, and cultural studies. You'll also conduct original research and produce a thesis.
Faculty expertise spans multiple areas including historical archaeology, pre-contact Plateau archaeology, artifact conservation, Plateau Native American studies, modern American society, evolutionary biology, and South American indigenous cultures.
Students can collaborate with professors on fieldwork and utilize the university's Anthropology Laboratory for excavations, historical document analysis, and conservation initiatives involving cultural artifacts.
