The Graduate Program's Cardiovascular and Lipid Disorders Division brings together researchers exploring diverse aspects of heart and circulatory diseases. Participants can investigate the biological mechanisms behind heart disease (the leading mortality factor for both genders), the growing obesity crisis, or developmental issues stemming from lipid metabolism changes. Research spans multiple biological systems - examining blood vessels, liver function, intestinal processes, fat tissue, brain interactions, embryonic development, and cellular models. Scientists employ various methodologies, from physical chemistry techniques to molecular biology, cellular studies, and comprehensive physiological assessments in living organisms.
