The School of Dentistry provides an interdisciplinary graduate program in oral biology, collaborating with faculty from the Medical School, College of Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine. This program equips students with research expertise and a comprehensive grasp of the development, structure, function, and disorders affecting the orofacial area. Participants can concentrate on one of five specialized tracks: biomaterials and biomechanics, epithelial biology and carcinogenesis, microbiology and immunology, sensory neuroscience, or bone biology, craniofacial development, and tissue engineering. Highly motivated students may develop their own focus area or pursue unlisted specializations, though they should consult the graduate studies director prior to application. The curriculum offers significant flexibility, enabling personalized study plans that may incorporate courses from other fields as part of the major program.
Anyone who has or will obtain a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the U.S. or a comparable degree from an officially recognized college or university outside the U.S. may apply for graduate admission.
The preferred undergraduate GPA for admittance to the program is 3.00.
