The University of Cincinnati's Elementary Education Bachelor of Science (ELEM) program equips graduates to obtain an Ohio Primary teaching license. This program trains educators to teach children from pre-K through fifth grade, with career opportunities in preschools, Head Start programs, childcare centers, and elementary classrooms. Our dedicated faculty develops an early childhood education curriculum that molds students into compassionate, skilled teachers who nurture every child's unique learning potential and developmental needs.
Throughout years two through four of the program, students gain practical classroom experience across preschool, kindergarten, and elementary school settings. To qualify for licensure, candidates must successfully complete the Ohio Assessments for Educators examinations. The program emphasizes diversity, fostering inclusive practices, equitable approaches, and personalized knowledge development within its educational framework.
