As a physician assistant, your role involves patient care, diagnosis, and medication prescription. Your clinical expertise is vital for delivering high-quality healthcare to your community. Our program equips you with the essential knowledge to support physicians and independently treat patients across acute-care, surgical, and medical environments.
Your education begins with foundational courses including Human Gross Anatomy, Medical Physiology, and Clinical Pathology. You'll advance to specialized medical and surgical training covering Clinical Medicine, Surgical Disease, Pharmacology, Clinical Laboratory Medicine, Patient Assessment Techniques, Electrocardiography, and Simulation-Based Learning. After completing classroom instruction, you'll undertake a clinical year featuring seven required rotations and four elective placements. To ensure comprehensive career readiness, we provide professional development courses emphasizing the interpersonal skills necessary for empathetic patient care. Additionally, research coursework, literature analysis, and a capstone project prepare you for advanced studies or academic pursuits. Upon certification, you'll be qualified to practice medicine under a licensed physician's supervision.
