Our dynamic MA program in German features concentrations in literature, linguistics, and interdisciplinary studies, welcoming talented new applicants. Our diverse community of current and past graduate students hails from multiple nations including Cameroon, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, and the United States, creating an international cohort bonded by their passion for German studies.
Students may choose between Plan I (24 course credits plus thesis) or Plan II (30 course credits without thesis). The curriculum requires 15 credits in German literature/culture and philology, 3 credits in German history, and one 3-credit interdisciplinary seminar. With permission from the German graduate advisor, students may count 9 credits of graduate coursework from related fields toward their degree requirements.
