The Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) program equips students to practice Landscape Architecture as both an artistic and environmental discipline. The MLA curriculum fosters critical thinking, creative exploration, and technical proficiency. Through design studios, workshops, and theoretical studies, students examine the discipline's diverse scales and cultural impacts—from individual sites to urban planning to regional ecosystem management. Technical and professional courses ready students for the demands of Landscape Architecture practice.
The Master of Landscape Architecture I (MLA I) degree serves students without prior landscape architecture education and holds accreditation from the Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB) as a first professional degree. The MLA I program delivers comprehensive training in the field's core knowledge and techniques while offering avenues for academic research. The initial year establishes foundational competencies in design, history, theory, and digital tools, while subsequent years expand students' design capabilities and scholarly pursuits. Completing the MLA I degree generally requires at least three years.
