This 30-credit program equips you for administrative roles in both public and private K-12 school systems. The rigorous curriculum provides the necessary training and qualifications for New York State certification as both a school building leader and district leader. After finishing the coursework, participants must successfully complete the New York State School Leadership Assessment.
The program covers subjects like leadership development, supervisory techniques, educational law, curriculum issues in public school administration, along with district-level challenges and their resolutions. Students will undertake a 400-hour practical administrative internship under the guidance of an experienced school administrator. Applicants must hold a master's degree, a permanent teaching certification, and have at least three years of teaching experience with that certification.
