The Master of Science Degree for Artist/Educators caters specifically to theater professionals teaching at the secondary level. This comprehensive program covers theater disciplines such as performance, direction, production design, backstage coordination, promotion, and theatrical studies. Through immersive summer sessions spanning three years, participants collaborate with instructors to enhance and perfect their artistic and pedagogical abilities. Note that the School of Theatre doesn't accept new cohorts annually. Prospective students should reach out to the Academic and Student Services Office for detailed enrollment procedures. Applicants must complete both the program application and Florida State University's admission process.
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. (Students who do not hold a Theatre Education degree must show evidence of substantial course work and/or experience in theatre to indicate probability of achieving success in advanced theatre studies.)
A grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) during the last two years of study for a bachelor’s degree.
