The 15-hour graduate certificate in Interdisciplinary Arts welcomes all doctoral students and features the five foundational courses from the Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts' current Fine Arts Doctoral Program. The curriculum includes four mandatory classes: a colloquium examining disciplinary development and interdisciplinary approaches, art histories, contemporary art contexts, and philosophical aesthetics. Students complete the certificate with one additional approved course in topics or aesthetics. This program suits those curious about connections between artistic disciplines and their scholarly frameworks, or the convergence of arts with fields beyond the TCVPA.

Qualification Requirements
To be accepted into one of the Masters or Doctoral Degree programs in music, the applicant must be approved by the School of Music and admitted by the Texas Tech Graduate School.

Sample of written work, such as term paper, master's thesis, published article, etc.
Letters of recommendation (2-3) are required.
Additional audio/video materials will be required for specific degree programs, to be uploaded under Optional Materials within the application system.
A personal interview or audition before the appropriate divisional faculty is required. Performance or teaching videos/links and digital copies of written work are required before a personal audition or interview will be schedule. If travel to Texas Tech University is not an option, telephone interviews or online interviews may be an option.
TOEFL - The minimum TOEFL score required is 550 (paper-based version) or 79 (internet-based version).
IELTS - The minimum IELTS required score is an overall band score of 6.5 on the Academic version
