The University of New Orleans' Theatre Program operates within the Department of Film and Theatre. Our students regularly participate in the Kennedy Center's American College Theatre Festival, earning multiple Regional Awards for categories like Overall Production Excellence, Lighting and Costume Design, as well as the prestigious Citizen Artists Award. The Theatre Arts curriculum offers exceptional value through its rigorous approach, blending theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience across all production and design disciplines. Each academic year features four mainstage performances along with readings of original scripts. Our comprehensive facilities - including dedicated scene and costume workshops, a permanent thrust stage, laboratory space, and an amphitheater - fully support our ambitious performance calendar.
