The MA Classics and Linguistics program integrates the exploration of ancient Greek language and literature with linguistic studies, emphasizing English language theory. Through Greek studies, you'll engage with seminal works of Western civilization—including epic poetry, drama, philosophy, and historical texts—in their original form. This linguistic immersion complements your modern language analysis, allowing you to compare structural elements between ancient and contemporary languages. Though similar in foundation to the MA Classics and English Language program, this course shifts toward linguistics specialization from the second year onward. Your culminating research project may focus on either classical studies or linguistic analysis.
