The Institute of Cognition and Culture (ICC) stands as a pioneering global hub for studying culture through cognitive science. This rapidly growing interdisciplinary domain explores cultural patterns—both consistent and diverse—by applying cognitive and evolutionary science frameworks.
Our distinctive Doctoral program bridges conventional academic boundaries in cultural research. Through comprehensive training in varied methodologies and theoretical perspectives, we prepare students for meticulous scientific inquiry, empowering them to produce impactful findings relevant to numerous scholarly disciplines examining cognition and culture.
The ICC's PhD program cultivates scholars who can: (i) synthesize insights across disciplines—particularly cognitive and evolutionary sciences, (ii) develop and rigorously test hypotheses, (iii) implement these approaches across cultures, frequently through collaborative research, and (iv) construct cohesive knowledge on specialized topics. Ideal candidates will exhibit sharp analytical abilities, innovative thinking, strong drive, and profound engagement with cognition and culture studies.
