Our environmental science research employs a cross-disciplinary methodology. Students can focus on applied or environmental biology specialties. We welcome applications for MPhil and PhD projects in these areas of environmental sciences. Our studies examine commercially and ecologically significant organisms and biological processes. We utilize experimental techniques spanning: genomics, molecular biology, biochemistry, and physiology. Our investigations reveal fundamental molecular and physiological mechanisms influencing animal behavior and biological functions. Motivated by the need for innovative biological solutions, we aim to tackle challenges in health, nutrition, energy, and water sustainability. The practical applications of our research have spawned successful ventures like Geneius, creating graduate job prospects and boosting regional economic growth. Commercial outcomes include discovering natural compounds, developing new antimicrobials and biopesticides, and implementing sustainable approaches to minimize food waste.
