The Environmental Intelligence PhD program is offered through the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Environmental Intelligence (CDT EI). This innovative program advances cutting-edge research applying Data Science and AI to examine the intricate relationships between environmental systems, climate patterns, ecological networks, human societies, economic structures, and public health.
The growing abundance of sophisticated, multi-source datasets (including environmental sensors, satellite imagery, climate projections, health records, digital platforms, and community science initiatives) creates unprecedented potential to revolutionize our comprehension of environmental impacts and humanity's transformative influence on Earth.
Under the leadership of Professor Gavin Shaddick and a distinguished research faculty, participants will collaborate with Exeter's community of 250+ scholars specializing in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and environmental sustainability studies.
