Environmental and Soil Science with focus areas including: Sustainable development in rural, suburban, and urban settings, Climate change impacts, Soil and freshwater biogeochemistry, Plant environmental physiology, Waste treatment and land rehabilitation, Soil taxonomy, Soil microbiology, Soil water dynamics and physical properties, Soil-borne pathogens, Heavy metal contamination, Environmental persistence of organic pollutants, Harsh ecosystems (arid regions, polar zones, etc.), and Constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment. Our 'split' PhD/MPhil options allow international candidates to complete portions of their studies in their home nation or another location. Numerous UK and European students conduct international fieldwork as part of their research projects.
