The MSc in Sustainable Energy & Green Technologies equips you with specialized knowledge and skills in advancing and refining renewable energy resource utilization, improving energy production and consumption efficiency (including energy conservation), reducing environmental effects, and preparing for business innovation and career prospects in renewable energy technology development, plant biotechnology, and entrepreneurship. The curriculum is grounded in leading European practices, aligning with key EU policy frameworks like the Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) for energy research, ongoing crop-related R&D (through initiatives under the Charles Parsons Energy Research program), and partnerships with globally recognized experts from academia, research centers, and industry. This program ensures your academic and research training remains current, boosting your career prospects in sustainable energy.
Taught by a research-driven School featuring a European Research Council Fellow and six Marie Curie Fellows, this program is led by Prof. Kevin McDonnell, recipient of the inaugural SEAI Energy Innovation award, the Environcom energy innovation prize, and a Fulbright Scholar. Students may have access to site visits and industry internships when available. The UCD School of Biosystems & Food Engineering secures up to €3 million in annual research funding.
