RCSI ranks among the top global universities for health sciences education. Our medical alumni are in high demand, working as physicians in healthcare institutions spanning over 94 nations. We provide both five- and six-year medical degree programs at our central Dublin location. Review the admission criteria to determine which program suits your qualifications.
In the initial phase of RCSI's medical program, students establish a strong foundation in biomedical sciences. The curriculum covers human anatomy and physiology in healthy states, with hands-on anatomical studies conducted alongside surgical specialists and medical practitioners through regional cadaver dissections.
The middle years transition to exploring pathological conditions and disease processes. Students participate in diverse clinical skills laboratories, interactive small-group learning, and problem-based medical case studies. Significant training occurs within hospital environments working alongside healthcare teams. The concluding years involve intensive clinical rotations through various medical specialties.
RCSI focuses on developing highly competent physicians equipped with contemporary clinical expertise for modern healthcare systems. Throughout the program, students refine their medical, interpersonal, and professional competencies within controlled simulation settings.
Training occurs in Europe's most advanced clinical simulation center and Ireland's premier teaching hospitals. The curriculum extends beyond traditional classroom learning through research projects, clinical electives, and pre-internship experiences to enhance career readiness.
