Employs breakthrough technologies to enhance both product and process development, covering: Accelerated production methods (such as 3D printing/additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping, machining, changeover optimization, and quality inspection)
Manufacturing-focused product design; production planning and system configuration; design reconstruction
Human factors engineering addressing system complexity (from product, process, and operational viewpoints for optimal system architecture)
Offers process enhancement support through modeling, simulation, and empirical testing
Maintains reverse engineering capabilities for creating either duplicate models or optimized versions for further refinement
Features industrial-grade equipment including a Fortus 400 MC Fused Deposition Modeling system and a 3-axis CNC printer-mill for investigating combined additive/subtractive manufacturing approaches
Partners with industry leaders to 1) develop additive manufacturing processes and integrated simulation tools (bridging additive and subtractive techniques) and 2) tackle production planning complexities with multi-functional machining equipment

Qualification Requirements

Graduates of recognized universities may apply for admission. In general, admission to graduate study is granted only to those students who have good academic records and who are adequately prepared to undertake graduate work in their field of specialization. In particular, an applicant for admission to a graduate program leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy must have either a Master's degree or, in exceptional cases, a four-year Bachelor's degree, or the equivalent; with a minimum average of 77% (or equivalent). Possession of the minimum requirements does not ensure admission. Transcripts, IBT-83 Minimum IELTS: 6.5.
