Graduate students can pursue research in cutting-edge facilities to earn their Master of Science (MSc) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees. Their studies span diverse fields such as analytical, biological, environmental, inorganic, organic, materials, physical, polymer, and theoretical chemistry, along with related interdisciplinary subjects.
Founded in 1859, the Department of Chemistry ranks among the world's most prestigious institutions. It is celebrated for its exceptional teaching standards, state-of-the-art research infrastructure, and its legacy of producing outstanding scientists. Collaborative programs include Biomedical Engineering and Environmental Studies. All students receive comprehensive, competitive funding through research assistantships, teaching assistantships, and fellowships, with additional financial incentives for scholarship recipients.
Students enjoy valuable partnerships with nearby hospitals, industries, and government labs. They gain access to advanced research laboratories and equipment while working at the intersection of chemistry with biology, medicine, nanotechnology, and environmental science.
Inorganic Chemistry encompasses a dynamic and rapidly evolving field that bridges synthetic molecular chemistry, materials science, and applications in catalysis, nanotechnology, organic synthesis, biology, and medicine. Faculty members lead internationally renowned programs exploring the chemistry of elements, supported by cutting-edge instrumentation for characterizing molecular, nano, and mesoscale materials—all readily available for student use.
