Experience the advantages of a small-class setting designed for in-depth exploration of modern anthropological topics. Three distinct master's programs are available. Those pursuing interdisciplinary graduate studies in Anthropology at the master's or doctoral level should explore the School of Graduate Studies.

MA in Sociocultural Anthropology
Our program addresses diverse subjects and regions, spanning Atlantic Canada, northeastern North America, and Southeast Asia.

MA in Biological Anthropology
This program focuses on medical anthropology, bioarchaeology, and forensic studies, with regional concentrations in Southeast Asia, North America, and South Asia.

MA in Archaeology
Students engage with various aspects including archaeological theory, methodology, geoarchaeology, ethnoarchaeology, and community-focused archaeology. The primary geographical focus encompasses the Maritime provinces and neighboring regions.

The standard duration for the MA program is two years (six terms), though maximum funding is provided for five terms.

Applicants should hold an Honours BA in Anthropology with a minimum GPA 3.0 (B) Average.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language):

Paper Based (minimum score of 550), including the Test of Written English - TWE (minimum score 4.0)

Computer Based TOEFL (minimum score 213) including the Test of Written English - TWE (minimum score of 4.0)

Internet Based TOEFL (Minimum score of 80) including the Test of Written English - TWE (minimum score of 25)

TOEFL ITP is not accepted

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Academic Module: Minimum score of band 7

MELAB (The Michigan English Language Assessment Battery): Minimum score of 85%

CanTest (The Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees): Minimum score of band 4.5

Pearson Test of English (Academic): Minimum score of 65
