The Department of Food Science delivers cutting-edge knowledge transfer, concentrating on creating sustainable, safe, and novel food solutions to enhance human wellbeing. Our research encompasses cross-disciplinary work combining chemistry, biology, microbiology, natural product chemistry, nanoscience, physics, and nutritional studies. We provide both Master's and Doctoral degree programs. Master's candidates pursue a thesis-driven Master of Science (MSc) typically spanning about six semesters. The PhD curriculum involves passing a qualifying examination followed by developing and defending an original research dissertation.
Applicants require an masters degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Physics, or other related degree. A minimum average of 73% for the last four semesters completed prior to entry is required.
