This graduate program provides advanced coursework and research in food process technology, microbiology, edible oils, engineering design, muscle food biochemistry, proteins and enzymes, food rheology, and beverage studies. Students benefit from access to diverse food processing equipment, a pilot plant, and fully-equipped laboratories for specialized training and research. Applicants with backgrounds in food science, engineering, chemistry/biochemistry, microbiology, or biology are encouraged to apply. The program collaborates with the Canadian Institute of Fisheries Technology, a dedicated center for graduate studies and research focused on food science and process engineering, particularly seafood applications.
