Queen's Law offers a distinctive graduate program centered on individual students. Our faculty comprises renowned legal academics whose influential work spans national and international spheres, all deeply committed to mentoring graduate students. The 12-month LLM in Political and Legal Thought (PLT) is an innovative collaborative degree specializing in social, political, and legal theory. As Canada's only program of its kind, PLT leverages strong interdisciplinary connections between Queen's Philosophy and Political Studies departments and the Law Faculty, offering unparalleled opportunities for scholarly exchange within a vibrant academic community.
Students must have high standing in a JD/LLB or equivalent with a minimum B+ average.
English language requirements
TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language
Computer-Based Test: A minimum score of 250 and a minimum Essay Rating score of 5.0
Paper-Based Test: A minimum score of 600 and a Test of Written English (TWE) with a minimum score of 5.0
Internet-based test: A minimum score of 100 and a minimum score of 4 for writing
IELTS - English for International Opportunity - A minimum score of 7
MELAB - Michigan English Language Assessment Battery - A minimum score of 90
PTE - Pearson Test of English Academic - A minimum score of 70
