The Master of Social Work (MSW) program emphasizes innovative methods for developing critical thinking skills to prepare leaders for varied social work settings. Students can choose between a thesis track or coursework path. The MSW is available part-time (completed in 6 or 9 semesters across 2-3 years) or full-time (3 consecutive semesters in 1 year). Course-based students complete seven classes, a field placement, the mandatory non-credit Pathway course (repeatable), and a Pathway Scholarship project demonstrating their academic growth. Thesis candidates take six courses, complete a field internship, the Pathway requirement, and produce an original research thesis. Course-track students attend three on-campus institutes (7-10 days each), while thesis students attend two.
