Collaborating with other Yale University schools and departments, the Law School provides combined degree programs for a master's alongside a J.D. (Juris Doctor) or a doctorate with a J.D. These programs cater to students seeking specialized expertise in law-related fields. All study plans require approval from the Faculty Committee on Special Courses of Study. By their fourth year, students must fulfill requirements for both their law degree and one-year master's program. Two-year master's programs necessitate additional Graduate School coursework. Departments typically set additional criteria, including foreign language proficiency or specific exam completion.
