The Performance Certificate program caters to exceptional performers without a bachelor's degree. Applicants must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Participants engage in full-time performance training and academic coursework, joining ensembles like Philharmonia, Chamber Music, or New Music New Haven as suitable. This three-year program mandates completion of 96 credits (16 per semester) and residence in the Greater New Haven area. Certificate candidates must maintain a B average overall. The School of Music requires all students to achieve B grades or higher in both Major Individual Instruction and Major Seminar courses. Those scoring below B in either subject will face academic probation.
