The Artist Diploma program offers an intensive curriculum tailored for extraordinarily talented musicians and vocalists poised for global solo careers. Candidates need a minimum of a high school diploma to apply. Individuals with a D.M.A. degree or currently pursuing one cannot apply for the A.D. program. Admitted students holding other School of Music degrees should complete the A.D. within one year. The program provides a customizable study plan to meet the unique needs of advanced performers, requiring at least 14 credits per term, including one non-performance course. A.D. students may enroll in any Yale University or School of Music course with instructor approval. Participants can request up to four weeks annually for professional commitments. Admitted students must dedicate full-time enrollment to the School of Music and maintain residency in the Greater New Haven area for two years.
