The Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art is a liberal arts curriculum offering students diverse studies alongside foundational visual arts training. Learners can select one or more studio art minors or pursue a secondary major in non-art fields to equip themselves for various career paths or advanced specialized education.
Program participants have access to travel programs to major art centers including New York, Washington D.C., London, Paris, and China. They may also engage in semester-long or summer study abroad options at Kent State's Florence, Italy campus.
Program Learning Objectives
Upon completion, graduates will be able to:
Exhibit technical proficiency in their selected media along with knowledge of relevant processes and materials.
Show awareness of the historical and contemporary contexts surrounding visual arts creation.
Display principles of design and visual literacy in their artistic practice.
Effectively communicate about art through oral, written, and digital formats regarding both artwork and artistic concepts.
