Wright State University provides a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Dance program designed to develop well-rounded professional dancers, choreographers, and educators. The curriculum combines intensive training in ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance with acting and musical theater coursework. Our distinguished faculty and visiting artists, who represent diverse professional dance backgrounds, are dedicated to student success. Dance students refine their technical skills and artistic expression through daily ballet instruction, specialized modern and jazz/theater dance training, participation in performances, and original choreography projects. Top-performing students may earn scholarships that include professional performance opportunities with partner organizations like Dayton Ballet and Dayton Contemporary Dance Company. Students showcase their talents in various settings, from campus productions to off-campus performances, including ensemble shows, studio recitals, theater productions, and peer-choreographed works. Graduates of our program are now performing with renowned dance companies across the country.
