The theater and dance program offers diverse career paths for students, encompassing performance, design, direction, management, and beyond. Hands-on technical training is paired with comprehensive studies in dance and theater history, performance theory, and critical analysis. As they cultivate their artistic talents, students gain practical experience through departmental productions, choosing two focus areas from acting/dance performance, design, or directing/playwriting/stage management. Teamwork and leadership abilities grow through crew work and involvement in production workshops like set design, costumes, lighting, scenic painting, props, and sound. Every theater and dance major must engage in productions, contributing to at least two of these three disciplines: performance (acting/dance), design, or directing/playwriting/stage management, alongside crew duties and production lab work.
Freshman applicant will be completing or have completed secondary school and have not enrolled at any college or university.
