The Master of Science in Counseling program offers specialized training in two areas: clinical mental health counseling and school counseling.
Professional counseling involves applying psychological and human development principles through therapeutic approaches that promote wellness, personal development, career advancement, and address mental health concerns. Our program aims to train skilled, ethical counselors ready for entry-level positions in clinical mental health and school settings across the state, region, and nation.
The Clinical Mental Health specialization provides two flexible learning options: traditional on-campus and online formats. The on-campus option requires attendance at WVU's Morgantown campus for both daytime and evening classes, typically completed full-time. The online program accommodates both part-time and full-time students.
