The periodontology graduate program offers a dual degree option (Master of Science, Master of Public Health, or PhD) alongside a certificate program, lasting three or more years with both classroom and clinical components. Students will master and apply cutting-edge, multidisciplinary patient care techniques at the highest level. Thoroughly educates dentists following guidelines established by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and the American Academy of Periodontology.
Develops both research-oriented clinicians and clinically skilled researchers capable of making evidence-based periodontal treatment decisions for individuals and communities.
Equips graduates to successfully pass the American Board of Periodontology certification examination.
Cultivates dedication to education, community involvement, and public service.
Enhances periodontal diagnosis, treatment, and overall oral health outcomes for North Carolina residents and patients worldwide.
All prospective residents must hold a DDS, DMD or equivalent degree from a dental school. The required minimum total score on the exams are internet-based TOEFL exam = 90, The IELTS exam = 7.
