The Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology research cluster brings together faculty and students focused on investigating biological processes at molecular and cellular scales. Our laboratories employ diverse model organisms spanning bacteria, plants, fungi, and animal systems, providing graduate students with extensive options for dissertation projects.
Faculty in the cellular and molecular specialization prioritize immersive, individualized education. Our advanced seminar classes maintain intimate sizes, often with under 10 participants.
A key interdisciplinary research focus bridging Biology with other Wake Forest University disciplines is Molecular Signaling. With affiliated faculty teaching across biochemistry, molecular biology, and cellular physiology, students can craft tailored academic paths. Further specialized coursework is accessible through our partnership with Wake Forest's medical school. Qualified students may engage in an integrated curriculum in Structural and Computational Biophysics.
