The Master of Science (MS) program offered by the Division of Oral Biology and Medicine welcomes both U.S. and international dental graduates, certificate program residents, and individuals seeking advanced research training in oral biology.
This two-year curriculum is directed by Cun-Yu Wang, PhD, DDS, who serves as Program Director and Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, with Shen Hu, PhD acting as the Master's Program Advisor.
Applicants must hold a B.S., D.D.S., or D.M.D. degree, or the equivalent, or be in good standing in the UCLA dental or residency programs. Applicants must have a strong background in the biological (e.g., microbiology, molecular biology, immunology, neurobiology, psychobiology, genetics) and chemical sciences (e.g., biochemistry, organic, inorganic and physical chemistry, thermodynamics), with a minimum 3.0 grade point average in upper division courses in these subjects.
IELTS Academic overall band score should be at least 7.0 is the minimum required.
TOEFL score on the paper and pencil test must be at least 560 or at least 87 on the internet-based test.
