During their initial year, M.S. candidates focus on crafting their research proposal while participating in the Integrative Biology program and additional classes, getting ready to present their First-Year Prospectus research outline. Students form a three-member faculty Advisory Committee to provide ongoing guidance for their academic work. Research activities persist during the summer months as students prepare their thesis. The second year involves finishing required coursework (24 credit hours of classes plus 6 research credits). In their final term, candidates must submit a written thesis and deliver both a departmental lecture and a concluding presentation to their advisory panel.
