The Department of Communication at Wake Forest University focuses on examining human interaction through theoretical, critical, and scientific lenses across all communication formats. To achieve this mission, the department emphasizes three key disciplines: communication science, rhetorical analysis, and media/film studies.
Our department explores every dimension of human communication. We champion a liberal arts perspective by engaging in academic research, creative work, and instruction across multiple specialties: strategic communication integration, communication science, media analysis, public discourse, and health messaging. For our undergraduate students pursuing majors or minors, we aim to equip them with civic awareness and professional competencies where communication expertise proves invaluable.
