Students enroll in the dual degree program as first-year undergraduates, gaining simultaneous acceptance into both their bachelor's program and the Sports Communication & Media (SCM) master's program. These dual degree candidates secure their spot in the MA program from day one, provided they maintain specified academic standards throughout their undergraduate studies. This early admission guarantees their graduate position while outlining clear progression requirements.
With guidance from undergraduate advisors and through engagement with School of Communication, Media & the Arts initiatives, students receive comprehensive support to transition successfully into graduate-level work.
The SCM Dual Degree Program enables students to obtain both a bachelor's and master's degree in Sports Communication & Media within five years. Undergraduates finish their bachelor's requirements in four years, then complete one additional year of graduate coursework to earn both degrees. This accelerated path is available to all majors except nursing and interdisciplinary studies.
Participants can apply up to six graduate credits toward both degrees during their undergraduate studies, reducing overall tuition costs since these credits are covered under undergraduate tuition rates.
