At the heart of our arts leadership program lies analytical reasoning, innovative solution-finding, and courageous exploration. Our curriculum blends academic instruction with experiential opportunities, delivering both conceptual foundations and real-world skills in arts administration and policy-making to equip students for contemporary arts leadership challenges.
Through this dual approach of classroom learning and practical application, we establish intellectual grounding while offering tangible experience in arts governance and promotion, readying students for modern arts leadership positions.
Every enrolled student is granted an assistantship position along with complete tuition coverage. Our M.F.A. in Arts Leadership holds membership in the prestigious Association of Arts Administration Educators.
The degree requirements include a mandatory semester-long internship for all graduate candidates.
Past Arts Leadership interns have gained experience at prestigious institutions including: Alliance for the Arts in Research Universities (a2ru) in Ann Arbor, Michigan; Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in Charlotte, North Carolina; Donmar Warehouse in London, England; Harlem School of the Arts in New York City; and Manhattan Theatre Club in New York
