The Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services, home to the Department of Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education, stands among the top 2% of graduate education colleges nationwide. Recognized as third in the country for research funding received, this distinction comes from U.S. News & World Report's America's Best Graduate Schools. The department comprises three specialized areas: audiology, speech-language pathology, and deaf education. Students pursuing the MS in speech-language pathology must undertake research work, while the MA program culminates in a comprehensive exam. Both MS and MA qualifications hold equal standing in clinical and academic speech-language pathology environments. The MEd program specifically prepares students for careers in deaf education.
