The Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services, home to the Department of Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education, stands among the top 2% of graduate education colleges nationwide. Recognized as third in the country for research funding, this achievement was noted in U.S. News & World Report's America's Best Graduate Schools. The department features three specialized areas: audiology, speech-language pathology, and deaf education. For the speech-language pathology program, the MS degree includes a mandatory research project, while the MA degree culminates with a comprehensive exam. Both degrees hold equal standing in professional and academic speech-language pathology environments. The MEd program specifically prepares students for careers in deaf education.
