Have completed a four-year college course of study and hold an acceptable baccalaureate,are in good academic standing at the last college or university attended, have attained a grade point average of at least 2.5 in an acceptable earned baccalaureate degree,have attained a grade point average of at least 2.5 (A = 4.0) in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted, meet the professional, personal, scholastic, and other standards for graduate study, including qualifying examinations and specific course and/or grade prerequisites, as appropriate campus authorities may prescribe

Statement of Purpose (aka: Letter of Intent)

All students applying to the Graduate Program in Speech-Language Pathology must submit a Statement of Purpose. Please limit the length of your letter to approximately 1 page, if possible. Your statement of purpose to the Graduate Committee should include:
an explanation of your interest in the field of Speech-Language Pathology,
a brief description of previous experience, paid or volunteer, in speech-language pathology or related fields (emphasis should be placed on human service(s) and/or educational experience),
your reasons for pursuing graduate studies,
your future goals (whether your orientation is clinical, administrative, or if you have research and/or doctoral program goals),
any goals specific to ethnically diverse (e.g., multilingual/multicultural) or special needs populations.
Letters of Recommendation
Once you enter Cal State Apply, you will be asked to provide the names and email addresses of 3 individuals who will provide letters of recommendation electronically.
Observation Hours

If you are applying to our Speech-Language Pathology program, you need to submit documentation of 25 hours of Supervised Clinical Observations. If you have completed your hours, please upload the documentation when you apply. If you have not completed your hours, you will be asked to provide documentation before starting the program. link to observation hours form, if needed
