The Master of Science program focuses on a research-driven clinical methodology within Communication Sciences and Disorders. Graduates emerge as versatile practitioners equipped with specialized expertise across various Speech-Language Pathology domains. Combining rigorous coursework, hands-on training, research opportunities, and externships, our program prepares graduates to work autonomously with minimal initial oversight. These professionals fulfill all academic and clinical prerequisites for ASHA certification and Pennsylvania state licensure (excluding the Clinical Fellowship Year and CCC examination). Additionally, graduates may qualify for Pennsylvania's Instructional Level I certification in Speech-Language Impaired, essential for school-based practice. Achieving this requires alignment with Pennsylvania Department of Education guidelines, which might necessitate supplementary coursework, a twelve-week school externship, and successful completion of state certification exams.
Students with a 3.00 junior/senior average (on a 4.00 scale) and with appropriate course backgrounds will be considered for admission.
